Join the CRWD:  Collaborative, Reading, Writing & Discussion

Small groups of 3‐7 participants meet four times during the year to focus on a topic of their choice and earn PD  hours for their participation. This is a new continuity initiative and we invite you to join in for personal and professional enrichment.

Creative Prose Writing

Who? Participants will read works‐in‐progress, share accomplishments, critique works, give writing instruction, and provide encouragement and inspiration to aspiring authors.  Whether you are a beginning writer or a seasoned professional, this group wants you to participate.

Where? Near Woodbridge or Chatham area

When? Monday or Wednesday I 4:30‐6:30 I Oct/Nov/Jan/Feb

Professional Writing

Who? Don’t wait any longer to share your best practices with other professionals! This CRWD is for teachers who want to publish their first piece of professional writing. We will help participants to identify best practices in the classroom and work to transform them into professional articles.

Where? Atlanta Bread Company at 6 Main Street in Madison

When? 4:15‐6:15 on Weds. Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Jan. 11, Feb. 8

NWP Book Club

Who? Participants will read a variety of texts (non‐fiction, professional, young adult, novel) and join in writing and discussion. Aren’t TCs always discussing books when they get together? Join in and earn PD hours for doing what comes naturally! The meeting dates and locations will depend on the participants.

STAY INVOLVED: Join a Committee 

Our three committees sustain and expand the work of our site. Each committee meets three times. Committee members plan and facilitate events throughout the year.
 

•  Continuity:  The Continuity Committee's focus is to fuel the professional and social activities of our site to keep TCs engaged in developing as writers and teachers. They are also involved in spreading the word to encourage the growth of our site. Continuity events include: Pre-Institute Conversation, Pre-Institute Orientation, Fall Reception, NWP Social/SI Reunion (new event), Reading, Writing and Discussion Groups, and Writing Retreats.For more information about the Continuity Committee contact:  Sara Bauer sarapomegranate@mac.com
 

Inservice: The inservice committee's goal is to improve and grow our inservice partnerships. Members of the inservice committee serve as liaisons and presenters, and have worked to develop study group parameters, demonstrations, open institutes, and other activities designed to meet the needs of our partner districts.  For more information about the Inservice Committee contact:  Sharon Stein safstein@gmail.com

Outreach: The Outreach Committee brings NWP to the rest of NJ. Outreach Events include: Brown Bag Saturdays, Family Literacy Activities, and special programs with our new partner, The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum.
